A: An ophthalmologist is a physician with specialized
training in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases
of the eye.

the diseases we most commonly treat?
A: A pediatric ophthalmologist has additional training
in the eye diseases of children and in the evaluation
and treatment of eye misalignments (strabismus). The
most common conditions we treat include myopia (nearsightedness),
astigmatism, esotropia ("crossed" eyes) and
exotropia, cataracts, and blocked tear ducts.
Q: Can reading in bad light or watching television damage
my eyes?
A: No, none of these conditions will result in eye damage.
